Psychological Testing

 

 

 

Psychological testing is a procedure for identifying important factors in an individual’s functioning in life:

 

  • Personality characteristics

  • Strengths of personality, value, character, and intelligence

  • Interpersonal functioning

  • Vocational adjustment

  • Marital adjustment

 

Psychological testing is done by a psychologist and usually includes the following:

 

  • A clinical assessment completed by a psychologist

  • Objective psychological tests; answers to objective questions in the form of standardized tests.  These are usually completed by the client without outside input.

  • Subjective psychological tests.  These are tests administered to the client by the psychologist.
